about

The general riff started in 1999 or so. The bridge progression come into being a year later while tapping on my guitar for some contemporary church music. The rock and roll riffs came after my first recording of the song (in 2001) sounded astonishingly dopey and stupid. I like how it turned out. It's a fun one to perform live and the guitarwork at the end worked out really, really well.

However, the lyrics sound like they were written by a lovesick 20 year old who was confused and angsty about love and crap. And I was a lovesick 20 year old who was confused and angsty about love and crap. God, I was a mess. But I got an OK song out it!

Despite the overdrama, I think I redeemed it with some good guitarwork.
